Nonviolent [Compassionate] Communication has so much to teach even advanced meditators. Learning NVC has helped me to apply all that I’ve been cultivating on the cushion – compassion, acceptance, understanding -off the cushion, in the world. — Christine Aquilino, member, Cambridge Insight Meditation Center, Cambridge MA

This workshop will teach practical skills for intra- and interpersonal dialogue using a model called Compassionate (Nonviolent) Communication (CC) that is used around the globe to resolve conflicts, enhance relationships, and improve well-being. Through interactive learning exercises focused on the foundations and skills of CC and periods of sitting and walking meditation, participants will increase their capacity to bring compassion and mindfulness to their relationships. This workshop is designed for persons with some mindfulness meditation experience and for those who are either new to CC or have some experience with the model.

There is NO FEE for this course. These teachings have been sustained by the 2,500 year old tradition of dana, a Pali word meaning “generosity.” The teacher receives no compensation for his services. Participants are invited to help support FIMC and the teacher in a way they feel they can afford through donations. In the act of giving, we develop our ability to let go, cultivate a spirit of caring, and honor our inter-connectedness.
